Flat Roof Systems
Low Slope Roof Systems.
Community building codes do not allow roofs to be flat, they require roofs to have at least some kind of a slope, with a roof pitch to interior drainage or off the sides of the building to a gutter system.
Types of Systems
This is where it gets confusing. There are many options available.62 years ago when Howard Charbonneau Sr. started the business Hot Tar roofs were the norm. Now, single ply systems prevail. Many different systems have come and gone at the unfortunate expense of the building owner’s roofs leaking. In fact, roofing problems are responsible for most litigation and claims with regards to buildings .
Roofing system design has been our lifelong study and a primary focus.
Today’s 2 most popular systems:
- EPDM—also know as rubber.
- TPO—a white single ply membrane that is appealing because of its color and reflectivity qualities.
